In Massachusetts and gamblers inside the Encore Boston Harbor property from Wynn Resorts Limited will soon reportedly be introducing four automated beverage dispensing machines in order to speed up the on-floor alcoholic drinks service for its gamblers.
According 7BALL CC to a Thursday report from local television broadcaster WCVB-TV, the $2.6 billion development located in the northern Boston suburb of Everett has received permission from the Massachusetts Gaming Commission to begin utilizing EasyBar units that allow servers to directly dispense alcoholic beverages without the need of a bartender.
Drinks delay:
The broadcaster reported that Encore Boston Harbor decided to apply for consent to bring in the self-service advances after receiving numerous complaints from patrons who were upset at often having to wait up to an hour to receive their drinks. The eastern Massachusetts property purportedly detailed that this delay is due to the fact that it often has eight to ten servers on its gaming floor but only one behind-the-scenes bartender.

Warren Richards, Food and Beverage Executive Director for Encore Boston Harbor, reportedly told WCVB-TV that the new EasyBar drinks service is destined to bring his facility into line with a plan approved before its opening seven months ago that mandates gamblers may only have a maximum of three alcoholic beverages every hour.

“We replace the bottleneck with four different places that someone can approach so now you’re taking eight servers and spreading them across four drink service areas instead of eight all going to one. Our hope is this will, as much as four times, improve the service of drinks going out to the casino floor.”

Addressing concerns from the Massachusetts Gaming Commission that the introduction of the EasyBar units could lead to job losses and Richards reportedly explained that roughly 40 bartenders would be impacted by the change but that 30 of these had already agreed to accept other positions within the 27-story Wynn Resorts Limited property.

“A lot of them actually moved into a higher hourly rate position stocking the bars with all of the product that is now automated.”

In related news and WCVB-TV reported that the Massachusetts Gaming Commission moreover used its Thursday meeting to give Encore Boston Harbor permission to convert a high-limit gaming salon into an exclusive VIP lounge. The venue purportedly pronounced that this area will be accessible to its around 200 members of the Wynn Rewards club and is to be a place for up to 15 gamblers to relax with complimentary drinks and snacks.
